So much to do in February right here in San Diego! From February 1 through the 28, residents and visitors can enjoy half-off admission to a wide range of museums, historic sites, gardens, and aquariums. Click here for additional information. I've also researched local events here in San Diego and found some fun events for all. To learn more about the events click on the imagery to go directly to the event website. 1. Beyond King Tut

Commemorating the historic discovery of King Tut’s tomb 100 years ago, the exhibition combines the power of cinematic storytelling and soaring imagery to bring the National Geographic archives to life. With nine galleries to explore, visitors wind through the story of a young boy to discover how he changed the ancient – and modern – world.

2.  Seaside Equestrian Tour                                  

Will feature a wide variety of classes, including everything from Cross Rails to the Grand Prix. In addition to these class offerings, NEE will be waiving class fees for competitors riding OTTBs and Young Horses. As always, you can expect the same world class dining and entertainment that you find at other Nilforushan Equisport Events horse shows. The Seaside Social Club will offer the best view of the Del Mar Arena with food that we promise will not disappoint.

3. Jurassic World: The Exhibition

A family-friendly immersive 20,000-square-foot experience. Visitors walk through the world-famous “Jurassic World” gates, explore richly themed environments and encounter life-sized Velociraptors, a Brachiosaurus, and the most fearsome dinosaur of all, the mighty Tyrannosaurus rex. Guests will be able to imagine what it would have been like to roam among these breathtaking creatures and even interact with new baby dinosaurs, including “Bumpy” from the animated series Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous.

4. Youth Fishing Derby Seminar & Campout

Learn to fish from the pros and watch demonstrations on how to properly rig a line the night before the 28th Annual Youth Fishing Derby. The fishing seminar will begin at 5pm. Participants and their families are invited to spend the night for only $16 a car. Don't forget your camping and grilling supplies. Absolutely no fishing is permitted prior to the Derby. Freshly stocked with rainbow trout, the lake will be open only to youth ages 15 and younger on Saturday. Winners must be present to claim prizes at the awards ceremony.

5. Chinese New Year Fair

Have a rocking time at the annual Heineken 0.0 Rock 'n' Roll Running Race, which will feature live bands along the course. Opt to participate in the 5k, half marathon, or full-marathon race. This is a unique way to consider exploring the city, as the race will begin at Balboa Park and travel through eight popular neighborhoods before ending in Downtown San Diego. Registration prices are $44 for the 5k, $99 for the half marathon, and $109 for the full marathon.

6. Crisis House Hearts of Gold Gala       

An evening of celebration, music, a concert by Gregory Page and Jack Tempchin, superb dining, and more inspiring stories. Bid on jaw-dropping auction items, including a week’s stay at a fantastic 800-year-old villa in Tuscany. We are proud to add that 93% of every dollar raised goes directly to programs and services. Crisis House has been a landmark multi-service agency in east San Diego County since 1972. They operate a collective of housing programs for survivors of domestic abuse and their children. Crisis House responds to the needs of 125 of our community’s children in their Camp HOPE program, one-of-a-kind camping, and mentorship program that heals the children traumatized by domestic violence in their homes.

8. La Jolla Symphony & Chorus: Learning to Fly

Steven Schick Mary Kouyoumdjian, UCSD alumna and composer often described as “politically fearless,” will be this year’s Brenda and Steven Schick commission honoree. The orchestra will then present Stravinsky’s energetic Firebird Suite, a work whose premiere was so successful it catapulted the composer to international fame.

9. San Diego Opera: The Puccini Duo

Suor Angelica tells the story of a woman (Marina Costa-Jackson) who bears a child out of wedlock and is sent to a convent for penance. After seven years, she is visited by her aunt, the Principessa, who brings tragic news of her son, which sets in motion a series of dire actions that ultimately result in tragedy, forgiveness, and peace.

10. San Diego Int'l Jewish Film Festival

In person: February 15-26 and Virtual: February 27-March 3. The festival will showcase a selection of the best contemporary Jewish-related films. 35 feature films are being screened at the David & Dorothea Garfield Theatre. San Diego

15. Oceans at Night

A first-of-its-kind event that invites a 21+ audience to experience an immersive blend of art, science and technology after hours. The new monthly series celebrates the wonders and mysteries of the ocean after dark. Oceans at Night features interactive experiences highlighting ocean phenomena that occur at night including bioluminescence and biofluorescence, while creating a fun, adults-only atmosphere with live music, a glow lounge with life-sized games, glowing nighttime dives and epic ocean views.

17. Silver Bay Dog Show

Mission Hills Summer Concerts in the Park is back for the 27th year, put on by the community organizations and businesses every summer, is a beloved musical tradition in Mission Hills. Bring a blanket and picnic basket and join us for free concerts in Pioneer Park Fridays during the summer months. The concerts usually draw around 500 attendees who catch up with neighbors and friends as they sing and dance along to the music.

20. Touch-A-Truck Lakeside Edition

Trucks, trailers, tractors, machinery, cool cars and everything in between. For children to get up in and see what it's like on the inside of one of these vehicles. They can talk to the operator of the vehicle for tips and stories and how each different vehicle has different functions and purposes. Vendors will be on hand for food and drinks so come out and have lunch and a snack and enjoy a day outside with your family and friends.
